Cake recipe chocolate


Here's a simple and delicious chocolate cake recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) boiling water


For the Chocolate Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk (or more, depending on consistency)

Instructions:

For the Cake:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

4. Slowly add the boiling water to the batter, mixing as you go. The batter will be very thin, but that's normal.

5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.

6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.


For the Frosting:

1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth.

2. Add the cocoa powder and mix until fully combined.

3. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, alternating with the milk. Beat until smooth and fluffy. Adjust with more milk if the frosting is too thick.

4. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

5. Once the cakes are cool, frost the top of one layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the top and sides of the entire cake.

Optional: Garnish with chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or fresh berries!
